Anyone have a problem with the LEDs in the 3rd Brakelight going out?

Yes, I've smoked my third. But, I just noticed the brake and clearance LEDs are not working. The white bed lights are working though. I honestly don't think it is something I did because they've been working this whole time, but who knows.

Took the truck to the dealership this morning to see if they would warranty it and the service guys there couldn't give me an answer. I have to go back on Monday to talk to the service manager.

I stopped at the Parts desk to get a price on a new one...$406. I'll call Randy's guy and see if he can do any better.

(I used my sons spiderman stickers to tape off the 3 LEDs. Looks good, too bad it doesn't work).

have you done any work to the electrical system?

backup plan, you could get a recon 3rd light, or buy the stock 3rd brake light from one of us that has theirs laying around

Mine went out at about 8 months. Water had gotten into them. That is a $475 part! It was covered under warranty thank goodness.

Your warranty will cover this. I've had mine replaced twice.

Yeah there was a problem with the seal letting water in and corroding the led's. They should warranty it for you, mines been replaced too.

BTW, you can find that same FoMoCo oem part on ebay for $280.

Take it apart and put silicone around it that's what I did with all my lights

Sounds like the dealer is going to replace it under warranty. Ordered today (really Monday) and will be here on Wednesday.

at least they acknowledge that there has been a problem with it and are willing to to fix it for you.
