Hey guys, I'm new here and I'm looking to get a new 2017 Raptor when it comes out. It'd be used as a split DD with my other car (WRX) and for other fun stuff, but I'm thinking about covering it up when I'm not using it. Never done any off-road before, but I definitely want to start.

What's everyone's opinions on car covers and seat covers - do you guys use them? Is it even worth it since it's gonna get banged up a bit? I mean, this is a Raptor and it's not supposed to be a show car.

Thanks!

I don't like car covers, they tend to blow around and move in the wind, scratching and damaging the finish. I DD my truck, and a good coat of sealant or wax will help protect it from the elements. Seat covers are good, the white accents on the new seats might get dirty, but make sure you pick up a fitted seat cover (coverking, wet okole, etc) so it doesn't look like shit and sloppy. Good luck, enjoy the new ride.

Had a full set of wet okoles. Loved them on my taco. Not on my raptor. Seat cooler wouldn't get through and cleaning dog hair out of them was a nightmare.

Had them in my Tacoma too. Could not dig dog hair out for the life of me. Seemed like the hair just wove itself in.

I got canvas covers on the rear seats, not so much as to protect them, but to give my dogs better footing (especially considering the way I drive)

I would agree with @KODIAK and say no on a truck cover, more trouble than its worth. Get some Liquid Paint Sealant and/or some H2O Guard & Gloss to keep with exterior protected.

If you have pets or kids that act like animals, canvas seat covers can help. I keep one in the truck just in case I get dirty and need to cover the seat to keep it clean. If not, use some Leather Conditioner to protect it from regular use and from sun damage and drying out.

If you nee a truck cover, just clean your rig quickly before using the cover to avoid unwated scrtaches. About the seat cover, try coverking and wet okole. They offer quality custom seat covers.

Totally agree with AdamsP's! Car cover only if you HAVE to park under the birdshit tree. But, then again, birdshit doesn't stay on my paint more than 15 minutes after it's discovered.

Also agree with AP on the interior. A pretty good painters dropcloth is handy to have under the back seat for any number of reasons (e.g. when crawling under the truck, emergency seat cover, emergency spankblank - you guess how this is used, etc.)

My truck just turned 80K miles and the interior looks almost like day 1, but clean regularly and especially after an excursion offroad and treat the leather every cleaning.

P.S. No affiliation, but you can't beat Adam's' stuff.
