Hi All-

I have a 2018 Ford Raptor with M&R fog light kit. I have mounted lights and brackets and wired all the lights using FORD Raptor lights wiring harness---thank you FORD raptor lights!!! I have not spliced the hot wires and final ground wire

2 questions:

(1) which wires are hot in the engine compartment...I have two sets of wires exposed in engine bay (see pic) One video installation on a 2018 (not a 2017) made a point to use wire loom farthest away from passenger fender and not the wire loom closest to the passenger fender. If you have a 2018, please send me a response or a picture of which wire loom you used.

(2). Can someone take and post a picture of which ground they used with the Ford Raptor Lights wiring harness as a ground.

I really appreciate any help to wire it right the first time--

Cheers

On question one: For a 2018, use the wires that are coming out between the two big plugs.

On question two: Use the factory ground point on the passenger's side fender where there are other wires grounded.

Hope that helps!

Wires on the left for 2017, wires on the right for 2018. Ford just likes to make things difficult for us. The colors are also different between 2017 and 2018 trucks.

2017 Colors:
Aux 1 - Green/Blue - 15A
Aux 2 - Gray/Yellow - 15A
Aux 3 - Violet/Orange - 10A
Aux 4 - Brown/Blue - 10A
Aux 5 - Gray/Orange - 5A
Aux 6 - Yellow/Violet - 5A

2018 Colors:
Aux 1 - Green/White - 15A
Aux 2 - Brown/Blue - 15A
Aux 3 - Gray/Yellow - 10A
Aux 4 - Green/Yellow - 10A
Aux 5 - Brown/White - 5A
Aux 6 - Green/Orange - 5A

My 2018 lights were to the right. I used the ground on the firewall. BUT - my wire colors did not match up to the owners manual switch map...

Yea they changed the wire colors, When I got my fog pocket kit it had a paper that showed 17 vs 18 wire colors, if not I would’ve been lost

Yep, the 2018 owners manual still shows the 2017 wire colors.

Hopefully, Ford corrects it for the 2019 trucks!

Thank you - Nick Apollo Optics

Big Shout Out and "Thanks to Nick" at Apollo optics for providing the correct color codes and wire location.

On my 2018, the wire loom farthest from fender or between 2 big plugs as Nick provided in the chart ---were hot and correct. Saved me alot of headaches and hours of frustration.

Install is complete. I will post pictures tonight.

I used AUX 1-4 for the M&R light kit---to keep it logical, I used AUX 1 for Farthest outside light pairs (small amber circle), then AUX 2 for Square projector, then AUX 3 interior switch for Square projector, and finally AUX 4 interior switch for just amber back lights on both square projector lights.

I noticed the gauge and obviously amps are different for the hot wires coming out of the Ford Firewall and my sequence of wiring has the sqaure projector lights (run as a pair) on a small gauge and low amp aux switch....

Given these are LED's, AM I okay doing this or should I rewire the sqaure projector lights to the heavier gauge wire/amp?

Cheers
