Tired of going to the local auto parts store for scanner. What scanner should I buy that will also allow me to erase all the codes once fixed? Reason I ask, recently had the P04DB (crankcase ventilation system disconnected) fixed the issue went back and erased the 2 of the three codes but the scanner wouldn't erase the code marked permanent.

PERMANENT
Permanent codes are a special
type of confirmed code that
only the vehicle can erase.

Has anyone experienced this?

Thanks

Cheapest bet might be to get ford to erase it if you fixed the issue that caused it to appear.

Permanent code will erase itself after emission monitor self test has been performed and successfully completed and passed
