I made one. 2 light coats of Nite Shades, 3 coats of clear, wet sand and buff.
I went lighter than normal with the Nite Shades so I wouldn't lose much light output. That big, white hunk of plastic on the back of the cab was driving me nuts. :insane:

Looks good... Curious if some window tint put on it would work. I am having my front windows tinted when I get my Raptor.

Jet, window tint is not your answer. Do as Nasty did!

Nasty can you post a couple more pics up close? How 'clean' was the Nite Shades with two coats? Hate to make a brand new truck look ghetto so early into it's life.

when done properly nightshades looks fantastic. Don't let the honda ricers with their ****** painted taillights throw you off.

From another forum with good advice on how to do it properly.

I scuff the tail light, apply 3 light coats of VHT, let it sit 10 min in between coats.

Let it sit for 20 minutes and apply 4 coats of automotive or krylon clear.

Let it all dry for 24 hours. Come back and wetsand with 2000 grit until its dull.

Then use polishing compound to bring it to a glass like shine..

I have done 6-8 vehicles and none have had issues...

Most only spray the vht on, and no clear. Which dull's fast and looks like crap..

Thanks... Ordered a can along with some sandpaper and clear coat. Will see how it comes out. Anyone know what a new assembly runs should I screw this up? lol.

Do the 3 clearance lights in the tail-light shine through nicely? Thinking about only 2 coats of Nite Shades but may do 3.

I don't know how much they are now, but I'd buy one soon before they go up. 1st Gen Raptor 3rd brake lights used to be a little over $100 and now they are a little over $300.

Mine do because I went pretty light on the Nite Shades. I'll try to get some more pics when I get a chance.

Anyone done their taillights? Curious how the BLIS/802A radar would work with it done.
