@Tactical Sommelier I am not sure what happened to your pictures. They don't show up anymore. I presume your brake kit is different than in this video

Hey, I have these same brakes on my truck, Alcon BBK.

---------- Post added at 08:14 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:11 PM ----------

What sold me was the fact that these can be used with stock rims and tires. Mine are not stock they are 37's but the are still 17's.

Original brakes are ok but nothing special. Did drive some passes with lots of Switchbacks- after 30 min the breaks were fading quite a bit.

Engine braking is your friend. I decended Pikes Peak and barely used the brakes. Paddle shifters are geat for something like Pikes Peak. More benign stuff like Loveland and Vail Pass only need Tow Mode.

Tow/Haul mode is lovely for this as well. I occasionally use it for regular driving just for this reason.

I read the first page and skipped to post...

I think many people underestimate the negative impacts of 35" AT tires regarding braking, mileage, and acceleration. Going from a 32 to a 35 usually requires new brakes/shocks/springs to handle the impact of increased unsprung weight. Put those 35s on the other F150 and see how well it stops.

From what I've read (no expert and do not even have my raptor yet) the brakes from FoMoCo are about as big as can be fitted on the 17s. With small spacers there are some 4 and 6 piston calipers that can be squeezed in there, adding some better heat management with improved aftermarket rotors can only help.

That's the beauty of the Alcon kit. 6 piston front, 4 piston rear. Fit most 17" wheels without spacers. And have 7mm billet spacers included in case they're needed.

We saw a 27% reduction in braking distance from 60-0 MPH.

First off, perform a good bleed on your brakes.

Secondly, the stock pads are fine. They are performance oriented, but there’s only so much you can do with the stock F150 brake setup. It’s limited by 17” wheels and stock calipers. It’ll get you there once or twice but don’t depend on them for repetitive results. There’s a few guys here who recommend the Ford Police Pursuit pad. You can get them on RockAuto.

I was going to say, no one recommended bleeding them first, just to make sure.
