Method NV beauty rings getting painted.

Hello all. I have 5 Method NVs that I'm going to pull the beauty rings and get painted Race Red. Can I remove them with the tire installed? They are just beauty rings right?

The ring is part of the wheel.

Yea the method NV are one piece. You would have to paint the ring on the wheel. I have seen it done looks good.

There are 2 different NV's. The 101 which is an actual headlock wheel, and the 305 which is a simulated bead lock. You have the 305.

You would need to remove the tire and the bolts to paint or powdercoat the rings. I would say that your looking at $200 per wheel just for the paint, plus what ever it cost to remove, remount, and balance each wheel.

Not sure it would be worth the trouble.

So the bolts are just there for looks I guess?

correct. They serve no mechanical purpose. You can remove them all if you wish

Yeah it was a buzz kill for me and my double standards but a shop did it here in Baltimore with the tire still mounted no problem and I'm pleased with it. Been to Rausch creek a few times and they are holding up nicely.
