New Ford Crate Engines "Coming Soon"

Ok, this is exciting.

Looks like Ford is releasing the new all aluminum GT500 engine and the brand new Mustang GT engine (5.0L 32v) as crate engines.

They list as "late summer" and it will be very interesting to see what the costs are.

I'm guessing $22,000 for the GT500 engine and $7500 for the new 5.0L crate motor.

I'm betting the 6.2L will be up on that site in 6 months to a year's time.

ok, actually the new 412HP/390 lb ft torque 5.0L 32v aluminum engine is $6999!!

This is a pretty interesting alternative to 5.4L + supercharger/turbo for the price.

Since the new 2011 Mustang GT also uses the 6R80 transmission (same as Raptor) it could potentially be a drop in (minus accessories/etc)

The 5.0 crate engine swap was my initial plan for the truck once I get some miles on the beast...just hit 28000...this engine is getting a little long in the tooth I would much rather put a NA 5.0 or 6.2 than a S/C kit. Good find Tim.
