The Bob Vila of Trucks
Here is the install of aFe's Stage 2 Intake (PN 54-11622) and Throttle Body Spacer, TBS (PN 46-33002). The aFe Stage 2 cold air intake claims to produce 14hp and 23lbs ft. of torque and outflows the factory intake by 35%...... Not really sure if thats true but it did help my mileage by 1.5 and the truck was more responisve.
As for the TBS it creates turbulence in air flow at the point just prior entry into the engine. This turbulence helps the air/fuel charge burn completely for increased horsepower, torque and throttle response......not really sure about all that either, but it does sound cool
Here is pic of the stock intake
You'll need just basic tools.......flat head screw driver and your choice of sockets or wrenches but you'll need 8mm, 10mm, 12mm, and 13mm for this job. Everthing is pretty straight forward and easy to remove, making it very easy for even the most novice do-it-youselfer
Side note, I've had problems with the Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor ******** up before with my other trucks so I always go out and by better screws and black silicone for a better seal
You can see the difference here
