Can the unit be disassembled so I can get rid of the greenish / black residu on the bottom side of the transparant lens?

I found the answer on my own question. I could not open the unit, but was able to rinse the greenish - black residue away with a brush under the tap. Dried it and added a bead of caulk on the rubber and also in the outer edge of the lens. Now the moisture can't make the lens greenish again.

Anyone have this issue with 2012's? Mine is at dealer for the second time for these faults. Told them to check the third brake light.

Great write-up, BigJ. I'll probably do this when I pull the light off to smoke it out.

I hear Birdman prefers black caulk though...

here we go with the caulk jokes!:ROFLJest:
BigJ posted the pic of his small white caulk ............ sick bastard!

Damn this just happened to me today.

Ha ha ha mine did it today... Leaving for northern Mi tomorrow too... Go figure.. As least I have the equipment to clear and fix here... If only I still worked there I could get the updates and reflash myself... Oh well, I think its time to trade in and get me a 2013!!! Going to dealer for a written trade in estimate...
