cutout electric vs cable setup

Guys wanting to run a cutout before the resonator on the stock exhaust...I do lots of highway so I want my truck as quiet as stock, but when off road I want the sound. From what Im reading the electric cut outs are not reliable, what setup do you recommend using?

I have an electronic cutout exhaust and the coil that opens and closes the cutout broke and even fell off. So right now I technically have three exhaust my two pipes and the cutout.

I will be replacing it with a cable one soon.

I had an electric cutout. Key word there being...had...it died in about 6 months.

I had one too. Froze up after 8 months. Three year warranty but company/guy wouldn't answer phone email anything.

I have a dmh cutout before the resonator. Installed in feb this year (i think). Flawless

I can't remember which brand I got but they answered, and still wouldn't do shit.

Dmh is the brand I had!

I have the Doug's cut-out and it is awesome!

See my install thread and what I did. They do need to have some internal edges smoothed for longevity. Being made form SS and a gate guillotine style valve is why I selected this brand.
