When I picked up my new 2013 I decided I wouldn't run the tiregate I had on my 11. It left me with a problem, The rack I had was set up for a tiregate. It wasn't designed to carry any spares. So I started looking around, I contacted Jason @ LEX about a rack they were selling from another vendor. During our discussions, Jason mentioned they make racks as well and would be happy to make me something to fit my exact needs. I told him what I wanted and the price really couldn't be beat compared to what I'd priced out from other vendors. So, I placed the order.

While waiting for the rack I started looking at their mega bumper. I already had the RPG Raceline which I liked a lot but for some reason I liked the Mega a lot more. I hit up tbone to see if he wanted to buy my Raceline and he did of course  I then quickly called up Jason to order up the bumper and a 40" light bar.

Wednesday, I finally got my package.

LEX did a great job packaging everything. While installing the bumper and the rack, I didn't find a single scratch.

With the help of GBrown1867, I was able to get everthing installed this weekend. The Mega requires you to cut the frame very similar to the Raceline. I've installed both and I will say the LEX takes a little longer because you have to mount it to mark the area where you need to drill a whole in the frame but other than that it was pretty strait forward.

I was blown away by the attention to detail, fit, and finish of everything. This setup will get put through the paces Thanksgiving weekend during a 400 mile run. I'll report back how everything holds up. I'll stop typing and let the pics do the wrest of the talking.

Is there a quick release for your jack or are you only strapping it down?

Just a strap. The front wheels slide into a half tube ( don't know what to call it.) there are also 2 wholes for the rear wheels to sit.

Love that rack. I was gonna order one a few months ago but Kirk @ Raptor Addict sold me his.
I need to ditch my ADD bumper for one with a better attack angle but want to be able to use my Vision X 40. Will your bumper take a 40?

Can't wait to see it in use soon
Me too!

That rack is bad ass!. I would assume it will take it. The 40 in there is a cheaper one. If you look closely, they notch the tubing in the enclosure to keep the top hoop as low profile as possible.

Really like the chase rack, I just don't understand why their name has to be plastered all over the product.

I get ya. It really doesn't bother me since it's a chase rack and in my bed. The ones on the bumper are barely noticeable once mounted IMO. I'm sure you can have it made with out it. I may have done the same since I like a simple but mean look, but I'm very pleased with it either way.

haha, me too! A little more than I was looking to spend though. This one cost me about $1000 less.

Foutz racing makes a quick release that you can mount on your rack. I made mine and have pics if you want. You can take the wheels off of your jack and fasten a skid to it.

You gotta plug the top of the tubes that fasten to the bed bolts. They hold water and rust.

You can get these at Home Depot in the plumbing section, about $4 each, every time I looked at mine they were like swimming pools

Good thinking, didn't think about that. Thanks for the tip.

I'll probably get the skid and quick release eventually. I would probably have it already if the jack was exposed for cosmetic purposes. It would bug me with the ratchet strap showing.
