Why is carrying one in the stock location underneath a bad idea?
When you are offroading, the ground is never level and it has to do with time as well. It's very quick to roll the tire out of the back than trying to get that rusted key lock out of the bumper and then crank that tire down, etc, it's a total fuckery when you are offroad and as @zombiekiller said as well. Most carry a flat jack and a cordless impact gun, usually less than 5 minutes versus 20-30 trauma minutes.

i carry one in the oem spot, and one in the bed if i get a flat and its level, i will put the flat there so i dont have to try to dig it out later. but because i have bed cover, i cant stand 2 tires upright.
