Whipple with stock air box?

Anyone know if you can use the stock airbox with the whipple stage 2 supercharger?

The reason I ask is because when offroading I think the enclosed stock airbox would protect the filter from mud and water better.

And I wont be needing every last 1/4 hp out of the kit, I'd sacrifice 10-15+ hp if it meant the truck stayed reliable in the mud and water.

The stock air box would definitely be way to restrictive.
Get a filter sock and a extra filter if your going to do mudding.
Even a stock box won't protect you if you go swapping through deep water or going to fast through water holes.

Without a snorkel you going to have to use your better judgment when doing that kind of off roading.
