Wheels?? 2019 raptor, any issues with going up to 20” wheels? Looking at the company Venomrex who make high end rims for Raptors. Rubbing issues?

Lots of folks running 20’s on their Raptor, post some pics when you get them installed. Just don’t try to do any serious off-roading with those, swap back to your stocks when you get that urge to go desert running.

Opionions on 20” wheels vs the manufacture 17”
would there be any issues with rubbing . Looking at the brand Venomrex who make forged wheels for high end cars and Raptors .

Go for it, perhaps something with spinners and a heavy negative offset ...I hear Pepboys gives free dice tire valve caps when the put the tires on.

I sell mainly 17’s wheels. Actually do not recall selling 20’s nor really recommend them for this truck. If you plan on being on pavement always, go for it.

I am a true believer in off-roading and airing down. I really like the Method trail series with bead grip as I air down into the low 20’s and still keep speed and never lost a bead. Strong wheels too.

I like how the OEM’s with KO2’s don’t scratch when I hit a curb at the grocery store. Good enough for me.
Lucille likes a pair of shoes that don’t facilitate curb damage when my wife drives. Apparently the NY driver’s test didn’t mention ‘curbs’.

I love my 17” venomrex wheels. I think if I were to go with 20s I would want spinners instead though.

if you go that route and decide on curb feelers, good luck. You’ll need to cut some rebar to serve as proper Raptor curb feelers. So I’ve heard.

I hear Pepboys gives free dice tire valve caps when the put the tires on.
I didn’t see any dice valve caps in that pic. P/N?

We're the premiere dealer for VenomRex in the Raptor world and have been selling them since they first hit the market back in the day. The quality of them is fantastic and they're lighter than the factory OEM wheels at roughly 28.5lb for the VR-601 and VR-602. Are they the best for off-road performance, no. You want the most sidewall you can get when you leave the pavement. Depending on how often you go off-road should factor into your decision.

I ran our shop truck at the Texas Raptor Run back in 2018 with 20s on 325/60R20 tires without issue. This setup causes you to lose exactly 1" in sidewall. If you go with a 35x12.50R20, you'll lose 1.5" of sidewall. The best thing about the setup with the Nitto RG 325s and VR-601 wheels is that it literally weighed 0.4lb less than stock so the change in rotating mass was minimal.

We've sold everything from 17s to 22s for Raptors, it all depends on what YOU want to do with YOUR truck and YOUR money. Plus, who says you can't run your stock wheels and tires, or other 17" wheels when you do decide to leave the pavement.

Do what makes you happy and fits your needs and your budget. And if we can put help you put a wheel, tire, and leveling setup together, we'd be happy to help. Feel free to send me a PM.

Also, to answer your question, if you have a 2017-2018 Raptor with the VR 20s, you'll need to trim a bit or the level the suspension to run 35x12.50R20 tires. If you run the same setup on a 2019-20, you do not need to level the truck. If you want to run 325/60R20, you'll need to level and trim for clearance on all Gen 2 trucks.

Cheers,

Nick

I have 20” Venomrex 601 on my 2020. No issues with rubbing at all. However I will be offloading them shortly when my 17s show up. As a personal preference I want to go back to 17s as I plan to start hitting the Raptor events circuit later this year.
