so I was looking to change the passenger side ball joints, as I have already done the drivers side a week or two ago. When I got the passenger wheel off I noticed this vacuum line appeared to be either cut out competition worn. I've had her since February and never taken this wheel of before now. It looks like it should be part of my 4WD system, but I don't have any lights on my dash and 4WD is working as far as I can tell. Is it possible that 4WD isn't actually engaging in that wheel and that I WOULDN'T get any trouble lights or warning indicators?

First time truck owner so I'm not as familiar with these setups as with cars or SUVs. Thanks for any help guys!

it is the 4wd vacuum. the reason your 4wd works is because its vacuum pressure that keeps the hub out of engagement. when you go into 4wd the vacuum releases and engages the hub. usually people complain of a rattling noise when in 2wd and its one of those front lines that causes it. fix it and continue on.
