What is this noise?

My truck is making a weird humming noise and my suspicion is the intercooler fans. Has anyone else had this problem?

Why are you assuming it’s a problem that the charge air cooler fans are running? In low speed operation, it is normal for the fans to come on and pull radiant heat out of the air charge.

They do make a louder and more weird noise after accumulating some mud.
