So I finally got around with installing my 2020 Fox shocks with live valve delete and I noticed on the original Fox shock has a number (2618) scribed on the bottom. I’m the second owner of this raptor. What does this number mean?

it means you havent gotten it dirty enough if you can still see those numbers.

its probably a part number from sitting on a shelf somewhere. most likely not new. they could have been rebuilt shocks that were purchased and put on before you bought the truck.

I'm curious why you'd want to delete live valve.

I was told that the original shocks would need to be rebuilt at 50k. I picked up the 2020 fox shocks for cheap and they were new take offs that were selling local to me. I couldn’t pass it up.

I thought the 2020's were orange, not blue? Maybe not.

EDIT: never mind, I re-read the first post out loud rather than just in my head. lol. I'd guess they were replaced once. Haven't seen that on any of mine.

Since they have the same number, I would guess they have been rebuilt and that is the work order number for the shop that did them.

That way they stay together as a pair and if there is a problem they can track who did the rebuild and what parts were used.

2017s have blue shocks. Mine are blue anyway. The blue shocks in the pic are what he took of his 2017 Raptor.

Yes, that's what I figured after I re-read it. When I went off half cocked at first I was thinking he meant the blues were the ones off the 2020.
