What is going on here??!!

Hey guys, was on my way to work and saw this hanging out of my door handle. Anybody know what this is?? Is this common? Is this going to cause problems for me?

i believe its a very thin gasket/seal that over time just wears out. if you really want to take a look just pul the door panel off and unbolt the handle but i've seen a lot of people either shove it back up or just rip it out lol

I had that happen on my 2017. Its a gasket/seal that seems to deteriorate.

My seal has come loose as well. Just tuck it up or clean it out. I wouldn't consider it an attempt to break into the lock unless you see scratch marks around the seam. I'm thinking a thief isn't going to take his time to avoid scratches.
