And the carbon footprint from the 3500 lbs of ni/co batts mined by slave labor in the Congo? F it right? I’m in the auto biz & metals recycling- cannot recycle the batteries. You can go after the co or the ni not both. Massive amounts of pollution @ the mining phase, the production phase, the refining phase. And that’s before we get into what happens @ end of life, understand- ZERO lithium ion batteries from EVs are allowed into N. American scrap processors, but this is what happens CONSTANTLY from just the lil bitty ones in power tools/laptops etc.and then I introduce you to the wonderful power wall unit which store around 14 kw of power combined with lets just say 2 13.5 kw panel arrays this is more than enough to charge a Hummer EV to 80 percent within a 24 power period. In regulated utility markets it will not affect anything in unregulated markets you will need some sort of net metering to gain the full effects of charging these vehicles. The Silverado and Hummer are just two examples of trucks that can be charged off solar power and the power wall backup system will provide enough low charge at night to pick back up when you have solar power.
It beats spending 7-10 grand a year for gas on a Raptor when you can have all the natural produced energy you need to run the electric truck.

And no- we dont have anything close to “good” or “ample” energy storage. The scale you’re talking about is minuscule to the big picture. I know what I’m talking about when it comes to this issue- & I damn better should, I’m eyeballs deep in it as a career.
