Hey everyone, I know the valve train on the 6.2s is supposed to be loud and considered normal but I saw an interesting video yesterday. It was a video if a 2018 mustang gt and he was complaining about the engine ticking as well. I know its a different motor than ours but he fixed the ticking with high zinc motor oil. Is this a viable option for us 6.2 guys? Thoughts?

Zinc shouldn't be needed in a modern motor... It is needed in older motors or the cam can go flat and wreak havoc. The 5.0 tick is supposed to be from the direct injection.

a majority of the valve train tick on the 6.2 is injector noise. However, if you beat on your truck even modestly, you can collapse a hydraulic rocker arm. Did that earlier this year, word of advise, let your oil warm up before you give her the nuts!
