$5k is insane. Yes they are a bitch but just replacing ONE, oh and the tow, but it should not be anywhere near that price. The time @TAC71 quoted sounds right, 3-ish hours to pull the valve cover and lower spark plugs, rotate that cylinder to TDC, scope it to make sure (at which point they could tell you if the piston/bore if f'd), pressurize cylinder, wrestle the spring on and off, button it back up. Do they get $1600 an hour?! Are they ******* hiring???
