I recently installed Icons and am happy with them. Also use RainX Wash and treat the windshield with RainX.

Haven't tossed the OEM wipers yet.
Disassembled them today using a needle nose plier.
It is a standard assembly. Two metal slats in the rubber wiper groove threaded through assemblies.
Pinch the slats near an end and the cap comes off. Pull slats and rubber through and she falls apart.
Is a bit fiddly getting back together, some lube would have helped.

The big question is...are the rubber bits sold separately? (Sold by the roll online)

AND of course, is it worth it?

$50 or 15 minutes of my time?

Anyone done it?

edit... sometimes called refills or inserts available on line, $8

In my experience, OEM wiper blades work and fit the best. Maintaining the blades and windshield helps to prolong their life.

I run Rain-X washer fluid also. When I wash the vehicle, I wash the blades also. Kind of **** but works for me.

A clean windshield will make your blades last longer. Claying the windshield makes it smooth. I’ve heard superfine steel wool works too.
