SYNC LOCKUP DURING VEHICLE CRANKING /
STARTING - SINGLE CD OR SIX DISC CD - BUILT ON
    OR BEFORE 7/29/2011

    FORD:
    2011 F-150

    ISSUE
Some 2011 F-150 vehicles equipped with SYNC and either a single disc or six disc cd player audio control unit and built on or before 7/29/2011 may exhibit a lockup condition of the accessory protocol inter[ace module (APIM) when the vehicle is started. This concern may be more evident with a USB device connected and/or with the door open.

    ACTION
Reprogram the audio control module (ACM) to the latest calibration using IDS release 75.04 and higher. This new calibration is not included in the VCM 2011.9 DVD.DVD. Calibration files may also be obtained at the website.

NOTE NAVIGATION EQUIPPED VEHICLES ARE NOT AFFECTED BY THIS CONCERN. PROCEED WITH NORMAL WSM DIAGNOSIS FOR NAVIGATION EQUIPPED UNITS.
