I was parked yesterday and somebody ended up scraping the entire driver's side of her Honda Civic/Accord across my front bumper as she tried to back out of a parking lot. From what I can tell, she ended up doing the following damage to the truck:

Scraped the plastic ends of the 'Trim Panel'. Doesn't look like it can just be buffed out in order to get it back to original.
Bent the license plate. Not sure if the 'License Mount' was bent/broken in the process.
Left a few scrapes in silver paint on the bottom metal part of the 'Front Bumper'. Can probably be buffed out and re-painted.
I'm not sure what the insurance company is going to say, or how much I'll get (based on whether they think things can be repaired rather than replaced), but I'm wondering if now would be a good time to upgrade to a new bumper. I have a few questions related to that:

I have the triple bezel fog light kit with 6 lights in the bumper (I believe I have this one), and I'd like to keep the lights, so I need (want?) a bumper that allows for the lights to be mounted in it.
Do the aftermarket bumpers usually require a new front skid plate, as the mounting spots in the front go away? Or does that still normally work with the new bumper? I'm sure different bumper manufacturers have different solutions for the skid plate.
Because I live in a state that requires a front license plate, what are my options there? I don't really like the idea of mounting it to the skid plate, and I don't like the look of it being mounted off-center as I've seen some others do.
And, now possibly the most important question...as far as the insurance company is concerned, how do I get them to just give me a check for the parts/labor rather than having them pay for the actual repairs to return it to stock?
