Hey guys, for those of you who haven't invested in permanent PPF, there's a temporary option called Trakktape. I've tried out several different temp options, and this is by far and away the best product. Saved my fenders from a few rocks and scratches. The owner is a cool guy - he's actually developed a new 10" x 100' roll for offroad customers to make it even easier for our use.

I currently have the 6" x 600' option. It doesn't look the best when applied but it does its job, so no complaints.

I tried the cheaper* Shieldtape as well as Road Warrior Plus, and I wouldn't recommend either product. I really wanted to like RWP, but I just couldn't.

*Shield tape was only cheaper for options less than the 6" x 600' roll, I should say. It also left residue and was far more sticky, and not in a good way. Think they are defunct anyway now. I only tried them because I could get a roll for $30, and I needed some quick for a trip.

Pretty cool product and idea! I was always wondering if there was a temporary spray on application that you can wash off with soap and water or a specific solution

That's called mud.

Sadly, doesn't hold up to rocks and branches tho. Plus it is a PITA to clean. With the tape you just pull it off.

Full disclosure it takes about as much time to apply the tape as it would to clean the stuff, and cost money obviously. But you save your clearcoat and detailing time, if that's important to you. It is to me.

Whats the cost? If you're going to be applying and removing this often, one may be better off getting a wrap.

$130 for 600'. Way cheaper than a wrap. A single piece of this is more durable than a wrap - same thickness (5 mils) but vinyl is less durable. Two layers (so 10 mil, 2 mil more than a PPF) wasn't enough to stop a scratch on my fender, but it greatly reduced it.

Honestly, my advice would be to get Autoflex spray shield (or just Autoflex in general), then use this for the sensitive areas as added protection.
