Towing a Classic Bronco with an SCab?

Has anyone towed a Classic Bronco with their SuperCab 6.2? 6K limit so depending on the trailer weight its right at its max. I can't seem to find any photos of this setup, maybe I'll be the first?

My 1974 Bronco should be back from paint in a few weeks and Im swapping the Hellcat out for a Raptor shortly.

I'm no expert but looking at the trailer I'd be as worried about tongue weight as gross weight. Is towing it with a dolly-style trailer an option?

Sorry, no it wouldn't be that trailer. Thats an 3,330lb drop n load trailer a friend let me borrow. I would get a tandem axle open car trailer. Looks like @khcdave has towed his Bronco with his SuperCrew

I think you'll be fine... I picked up a'69 bronco for my mom a few months ago. Totlal basket case, but complete. My screw pulled it with ease.

I tow my vette on a 21ft open all steel trailer all over the country without any issue for drag week. Car, trailer and all of the Drag Week stuff is close to 7k if not over that. I do use a set of Firestone air bags though, only when towing. I have 12-5K miles towing alone on that setup...

I wouldnt worry. I tow a 7k toy hauler with my truck. Tons of wind resistance too.

I tow my 79 bronco all the time with my 2011. Sorry for the crappy photo buts it's all I have to show the combo. I have towed this home several times. I live 25 miles off the pavement. Hope this helps.

Not a Bronco per se. The F100 weighs about 3200 lbs. Not sure about the Bronco. We also had the Raptor bed stuffed full of some heavy items. No issues, even over the Grapevine.

Finally getting around to towing the Bronco. Picked up an Innovative 16' trailer. Now I need to figure out if I should get a weight distribution hitch or airbags or both? Any idea what my tongue weight will be?

That Bronco sits well over the axles. I don't think the tongue is going to be very heavy. Doubt you'll need the WDH. My Scout is a bit longer and heavier. No issue on my 16' trailer with it sitting as far forward as I can get it... Probably could and should load it further back like you have the Bronc.

I would turn it around and back up till two healthy guys can barely dead lift it on to the ball, should be close to 500 lbs.

I was wondering about backing it up versus pulling it on. They are about 55/45 weight distribution without a hard top

@JefeAZ, Was that 4,500 dry or loaded up? What is the length of that travel trailer? I am going to be towing something very similar but the dry weight is 5,300.

It was a 26 footer and its 4,355 base weight. It was easily over 5K lbs and the SuperCab towed it no problem thru sloppy mud in 4WD high.

I think Im going to pick up this WDH. Only $100

Finally made a test run and no issues. Don't think I need wheel chalks with 4 ratcheting straps or should I just leave them? Took it up to 70mph and then 40mph through dips in the road and it felt great. The rear end of the trailer really came up nicely when I parked it like this but I may move the Bronco back 6" to center it better.
