I cut my timbrens in half seems to work fine

This whole thread is like dejavu. I went through all of this with my FJ Cruiser back in 2012 with these. and like the OP deducted they suck for off road and ended like you- cutting them in half. These work if the axle stays in contact the entire time otherwise its like hitting a much lower bump stop every time you touch them.

So it looks like this keeps the truck level. Did you do this so you can leave them on all the time and not remove them for only when you need the extra payload?

Yes that is exactly what I wanted to achieve. I pick up a load every week but didn’t want to have to take the timbrens off. Before I cut them in half, the ride was a little too rough at times for my taste others may disagree. I primarily like them there because it may help me to not damage my suspension when I get the overloaded payload in the back. It is not a perfect solution but cheap enough to try.

Yikes! You know the SuperCrew Raptors are only rated to pull 8,000 lbs, right?

My Gen 1 SuperCab is even worse at 6,000 lbs. My boat was right at 4,000 lbs dry weight, so I know I was under 6K even when it was loaded with 50 gallons of gas and toys, etc.

Yep I’m aware
I only have to go about 5 miles 3 or 4 times a year pulling it.

Hey guys I am new to the board and as a 2018 Raptor owner. Loving the truck so far but never had any issues with towing as I am used to the vehicles with airbag suspension. I've been investigating these Timbren's, does anyone have any success with them towing any larger 23' wakesurf boats and any pictures of what the truck looks like? Also, have we discovered anything else without a custom fab?

Thanks for everyone's help with this!

I installed a set of SuperSprings on top of the leafs for my Gen 1 to handle my boat and 7x12 trailer.

https://www.supersprings.com/shop/SSA28/

I towed a 23" Yamaha Jet Boat with little to no sagging. The SuperSprings website does not list anything for the Raptor, but I had mine from a previous F150 and they worked fine. (I am pretty sure mine are the SSA5s) I sold my boat last year, but I will check to see if I can find any pictures of the stance when towing.

I am still debating if I will transfer the SuperSprings from my Gen 1 to my Gen 2.

Gen 1 Shorty towing Yahama 23" Jetboat

I found three pictures of my Gen 1 shorty pulling my 23" Yahama Jet boat. The boat weighed 3800 lbs empty and about 4400+ lbs when loaded with 50 gallons of gas and toys, etc.

I have the SuperSprings on my truck in the pictures and you can see the sag is very minimal. My truck is sitting at the mid-perch on the front.

I know my stock Gen 2 would sag like crazy with the same load...

Timbren didn't want me cutting the stops as had somthing to do with the integrety of the material. so now that they sent me the 4.5 inch versions I have three to pick from.

the 6 inch ones for really heavy loads

the 4.5 one for every day driving and light loads

and the OEM ones for offroading

now that I have changed them several times I can do it in about 5 min I even carry a jack and the different stops with me.
