Can I listen to lossless audio using CarPlay?

You can listen to lossless audio with CarPlay using a USB connection. Streaming lossless audio in a car over a cellular network will consume significantly more data.

anyhow, have fun with all this. cheers mate

CarPlay is 16-bit only.

Wired CarPlay downconverts to 16-bit stereo @ 44.1/48 kHz via LPCM.

Wireless CarPlay transcodes to AAC-LC and sends 16-bit stereo @ 44.1/48 kHz.

You speak as if the B&O system in the raptor is top quality sound in itself.

Well, finally got around to this project. These Anker mounts work awesome if you're already in the Qi/MagMount system. They are seriously like suction cups. If you have a case on your phone, you might need to install one of those metal brackets in the case to prevent falling over bumps but I run mine nekkid so it works great. Believe me, the phone is going no where.

This mounting system combined with this wireless Carplay system works really good.

Fast charging and wireless CarPlay. Goal acheived.

How we got here:

1. Remove the top center dash (7mm and Plastic Trim Removers)
2. Remove Stereo Cover and Remove wire connectors
3. Splice into Cigarette Lighter (White/Blue) with a power wire with in-line 10A fuse
4. Buy two of these USB-C Convertors
5. Wire everything up
6. Ground to metal frame
7. Test power/ground
8. Firmly mount USB Adapters with double-sided tape to plastic
9. Drill two holes in the upper dash to feed the wires
10. Put everything back
11. Connect USB-C Extensions (the right angle ones work great)
12. Connect your 67 designs or mount of choice
13. Anker mounts use 17mm ball connectors
14. Mount it all up
15. Take photos and upload them to FRF

Drilling feed holes. I went with two so I could zip tie them together so they wouldn't drop

Love it, just about to do something similar.

Do you think I can plug into the existing USB port for the wireless charger and that would be enough power or should I go the route you mentioned?

Completed the mod today. Disconnected the cigarette lighter connector and used those wires to connect directly into power and ground.

So wait. the adapters that you said you used for 15w or whatever. Where are those in this wiring? After the wiring you took from the cigarette outlet? You show 2 black usb c cables but the picture shows you using the white braided cord. I am trying ot figure out what I need to order to make this work and quick charge like you say cause I can't stand how slow mine is charging now wirelessly.

thanks for posting this btw. I've been searching everywhere for a wireless charging mount solution.
