So some ******* backed into my truck in a parking lot, and it looks like a new tailgate (and bumper) is in my future.

Anyone know if there’s a price difference between the appliqué tailgate and the non-appliqué?

Was thinking maybe I switch it up and get the appliqué one if I’m getting a new one and that’s an option.

Damn, he hit you pretty good for a parking lot. Was there pieces of his vehicle left behind?

Is this on someone else’s dime or yours? Looks like a good opportunity to get an aftermarket rear bumper. As for the tailgate, if it’s on your dime what about just adding an appliqué to the current tailgate to cover the damage?

It’s on someone else’s.

Luckily he left all his info and insurance info for me.

If his insurance is paying for it - I would drop it off at a good body shop and have everything replaced with brand new OEM. For what it is worth a used tail gate goes for $800-$1500 depending on options - gate step, auto release, applique

That’s my plan. Just curious if I could switch to the appliqué tailgate, if it’s the same cost.

the good news is it is not a quarter panel and any painting and such
can be done without the entire truck being dropped off.

more or less it's a win. despite some disgusting **** needing to be pistol whipped
