Hey guys I’m sure there is a post somewhere here but with a quick search I could not find easy answer …. Hopefully there is one …? I have 2012 screw wanted to try to update it to the sync 3 I hear such good things about for apple car play etc…… what do I need to do or how in depth is it? My friend also has a 2013 screw and has volunteered me to help him upgrade also so…. Figure I would ask here see what I can do. Thanks in advance guys !! Pic of my beast

unfortunately its not easy for you to add sync 3. 2013-14 trucks have a 54pin plug at the back of the radio that is also used in the newer trucks. 2012 and below still used the 24pin plug at the back of the radio. the two are not compatible as data has changed between those years. since you have a 2012 you are also able to change the radio. that would be a better option. go aftermarket. much better systems are available than sync 3.
