Try changing the Gas station. Are you putting premium or regular?

    what do you mean stumbles?

hard to start? takes 4-5 seconds? multiple cranks?

what it sounds like you are describing like the battery is disconnected and re connected.

just runs rough for a few seconds and then clears
have tried different grades of fuel at many different stations
we have owned it since new with 88k on it and this is a new development

It's the canister purge valve! Cheap part and easy to replace! Had it done to mine! Located on the intake. It causes the engine to flood, gas vapours are being dumped into the engine when refuelling. Will eventually throw codes for the cats.

I have had the same thing but it seems to happen most when I am very low on fuel. It’s been happening for a long time with no issues that I can tell from it.

Did you try the canister purge valve replace that coronaraptor suggested?
