every time I go for a desert drive I end up getting sand stuck somewhere in the engine and it creates this high pitch squeal but then after a nice wash it goes away any idea what the sound could be coming from and what I could do to prevent it (could be a belt or a fan not sure)

Could be some dirt in a tensioner? Maybe replace serpentine belt?
This is what i was thinking. I may have to replace mine sooner than later.

Tensioner
Belts

What else is due if I'm hearing a squealing?
