Why not just change out the colored strip, then none of that has to be done.

Probably the red strip isn't available by itself, it's probably all part of the Raptor steering wheel leather cover.

Probably, I'm just pulling this out of my butt right now, but if Ford is as screwed up as GM, that's probably the reason.

The red strips are available after-market.
