Only took about 2 weeks of ownership to see my gen 2 get loaded up on the back of a flat bed. Looks like the front passenger strut blew, I’ll know more once it gets thrown up on the lift. Will probably end up replacing both sides

Wow, that's very odd, somebody must of worked on that before and didn't install it correctly or something. Keep us in the loop. That should never happen unless you did a really big jump!

And we don't really call those struts, per say, Both the coil and shock are purchased separately on these trucks, just for your own info. The spring must of broke, or was installed wrong by the previous owner or shop?

Is that the oem spring tag or is it a different spring? Can you check the bar code on it to find out what it is supposed to be? I'm guessing it's the wrong dia spring, since the anodizing didn't even get scraped off the aluminum spring perch. Can you measure the outside dia of the spring and compare it to the dia of the spring perch?

I agree, it almost looks like the spring was too big which caused it to pop off the perch…. I’ll know more once I get down to the shop and really address it. Can’t wrap my head around someone installing the wrong size but nothing surprises me these days

Someone reported this before. Broken spring. I would imagine a manufacturing defect. I can see if it broke at the bottom it could easily slip over.
