Local to me neighbor just reported a 21 F series - 150 or 250, stolen from a restaurant parking lot. They had footage, truck was parked less than 5 minutes, they used the key code reader from the guy inside the restaurant, got in, started, disabled sync in under a minute and were underway.

Insurance is great. My wife's camry (great, but hate car), was stolen in July of 2020 out of our driveway. In order to not contribute to vehicle damage, we left the fob in the car. To make matters worse, we left BOTH fobs in the car. PD recovered the vehicle a week or so later and insurance company pimped it to the tune of $7000 for cleaning and paint repair.

At that time, I was stressing on the possibility of my 2020 Raptor getting jacked because of the fact that I could not replace it for what I purchased it for. Now things are trending differently...

Insurance... what a socialist concept...

It doesn't matter what price you purchased it for, insurance covers the replacement value of the vehicle.

Seems like good old capitalism to me. Vehicle theft is covered by comprehensive coverage that is voluntary and not legally required anywhere I've ever heard of.

I guess it was his fault for not putting his fob in a metal box when he went into the restaurant, eh?
