I am amazed at the lack of quality of the weather radar map. MineCraft has better rendering and density. Given the technology available today, with HD screens and push towards more dots per inch, why the hell did Ford low bid the radar screens in Travel Link? Each pixel is about 10 square miles, so that one zoom in and you are looking at a nasty, sawtooth, worthless radar map that is literally an insult to anything in modern day maps- there is nothing worse that I have ever seen. Was there an option to get a better quality travel link map that I missed? Dang.

I agree. Sirius has an aviation subscription that has to be better. They are just being cheap with their product.

Not for nothing, but the resolution on the 8” display is barely low def.

The Sync 2.0 I had in my 2015 King Ranch was by far better. For a nearly $80k vehicle this is junk!

That's funny, I think this every time I use it, but then forget about how shitty it is until the next time I use it. I like the Minecraft reference. Pong, or Space Invaders also come to mind.

It has nothing to do with the “radar screen” or the Sync system.

The data for Travel Link comes from Sirius, which is broadcast from satellites.
The map quality/resolution is entirely dependent on the amount of data that Sirius can transmit from their satellite to the vehicle. Since Sirius is primary an audio stream, they most likely are limited in bandwidth to support map data.

Speaking of weather, has anyone successfully had the Accuweather app show up in Carplay? Ford claims it works but not for me. There's no way to check weather when connected using Carplay.

Then what makes the Sync 2 look so much better than the Sync 3? This is the difference between my 2015 King Ranch and my 2019 Raptor...

It would appear that one is zoomed in much further than the other.

Not really. It may have been just how close my phone was to the screen. There was a very noticeable difference that’s why I commented as the weather map is a screen I use often in my travels.
