Was driving home from picking up a new safe for the house when I spotted this beauty in black! Had to stop for a closer look. That’s the first I’ve seen for myself and not just in pictures…

Last shot of my 2018 with zero offset methods and 2 1/4 collars on the right vs my new 21 35 before the wheel and tire change to 37s....IMO re the exterior looks, I like the front of the 21 more (more like the Gen 1) as well as the sides and lights. Rear appliqué of the 2018 is better than the 21. Both awesome trucks and both lead foot which makes them awesomer :)

Personally I think the Gen 2 stands out more. Don’t get me wrong both trucks look awesome but there is just something that is off to me. Maybe I need to see it in person in more colors than just black or grey(only colors in person I have seen).

I always have a delay on my opinion on new generations. It seems like my brain needs to start seeing them in greater number for me to really pass judgement.

I can say that the interiors are pretty bad ***! My ideal would be suspension and tech of Gen3 with Gen2 body.

I think what adds definition to the Gen2 front end is the outline of the grille. On the Gen3 the grille extends from headlight to headlight which makes it a little undefined.

Asked my wife (not a car person) which one looks better, and which one looks newer. She said the white one . She the mentioned it sure looks like the design team worked harder to design in the grille on as opposed to the black one. It would be interesting to get a pole from unbiased non car people to see what they think. When gen2 came out I thought it was the best looking front design of any car in existence. Having seen if for 5 years it is kinda getting old. It’s like having the feeling when you first met gorgeous wife, and looking at the same beauty couple years on. She still looks gorgeous but then again you are used to it, and not appreciate the beauty like you did the first day. To the point that a 5 or 6 might get your attention momentarily more than your 10. And that is how I explain the gen3. It’s different, it’s newer than the old one, and 5 years from now I wish it stayed with the gen2

Hope this helps someone...Probably not going to get a closer comparison...Both level. 1.5 collar on Gen 3 with 37s, Gen 2 on 2 1/4 collar on 35s. Both BFGs, Both Method NVs or now known as 305s. Not at the same place because I traded one for the other....
IMG_2237.jpegIMG_2195.jpegIMG_2243.jpegIMG_7135.jpegwhat is really apparent is that there is more clearance up front....Almost identical trucks yet the one with 37s almost seems like it has smaller wheel/tire combo from the front shot. Def does not look that way in real life.
