Has anyone done or seen anything in regards to coating or wrapping the shock bodies? If so any pros/cons? Want to try and save them from getting beat up and rusted out as much as I can when I decide to get a new set.

The only negative that I have heard is from them overheating possibly in hot weather. Some have put 3m clear tape over the bodies to protect them. I replaced mine a few years back and they are all pitted again, cycle of life.

I’m pretty religious with under carriage washing in winter, I’d usually throw a coat of Adam’s LPS on and clean them each time I washed the underside. Kept mine rust free for 4 years.

If I understand you correctly, I had Texas Shock Works send out a fresh set and they wrapped them in their wrap (they can’t replicate FOX logos). They look great and I would highly recommend.

Hey guys. i had a few people ask me what i did to refinish my shocks so I took a few pics of my shocks to show what they look like 2 years later. I spent about 2 min with a brush and some simple green to clean them up but no major corrosion or rust that i can see. I also pulled the lower control arms and cerakoted those silver and then clearly the same time. And the tie rods were powder coated clear as well. You can read what i did in the link a few posts above this one
