I slept on top of my bed cover before in a regular tent, just had to turn diagonal as I'm 6ft 3in. If I didn't have a cover I was going to hinge together some 2x6s across the bed for a platform. Guess it just depends on how simple or complex you wanna make it. I have a diamondback cover and front runner now makes a rail system for roof top tents so that's what I ended up with.

Disregard. I will be spending the 1500-2000 to open up the tent and be able to lay on it within 60 seconds vs putting up the tent myself.

The structure that the tent is attached to, that is attached to the bed, what manufacture should I go with?
