I have a 2011 6.2L with 60,300KM...it started running a little rough yesterday with a check engine light, and I brought it to my mechanic who got the code P0013, Exhaust cam position actuator circuit open (Bank 1).

I made an appointment at the dealer (earliest June 3rd) to get it checked out, I'm not sure what the problem could be, Google came up with generic results and I'm not sure if it will be covered under warranty.

Anybody had any experience with this code or issue on the 6.2?? Thanks,

Adam

Thank you for sharing your concern, White6.2. Please get back to me with the diagnosis next week; I’ll see what I can do to assist. Have a nice weekend. :)

Sounds like your passenger side cam actuator is unplugged or corroded. Its the plug that goes into the cam cover at the front.

Thanks to 2004boss..you were correct, it was the part that you said it was that was the problem, Ford replaced it under the powertrain warranty. Thanks again!

For anyone who is trying to do this themselves now, you need the solenoid and a new electrical connector. The part numbers are:

Solenoid: BR3Z-6M280-E
Connector: WPT-1214 /// BU2Z-14S411-AYA

I had a P0013 and eventually a P0014 codes and these fixed it. The part number that was originally for my 2011 was BR3E-6B297-CD but that part is no longer made. The new version has a much larger connector so the old one needs to be cut off and replaced.

I hope this helps someone else with the same problem as it was a pain for me to track down the right parts.
