I prefer to not have a truck cap on all the time but I love to have them when traveling or camping. So I installed a lift in the garage to remove my ARE truck cap. Four clamps hold it on. After it’s removed I have a Lomax bed tonneau that also clamps on in minutes. I have not seen anyone posting a system like this. Suspending such a heavy object has risks and should obviously only be done if your certain you roof can support it. I have giant engineered joists above my garage ceiling. Notice I have separate safety cable in case of rooftop carrier or hoist failure. It takes me maybe 4 minutes to swap out the covers.
