First time this happened I had no clue what had just happened. Just did it again though. Remote start as I’m walking up.
Get in. Press brake. Press the ignition button.... and the engine turns off.
I have the auto start/stop button tripped with a wire (physically disabled). For the last year I haven’t once had a problem with auto start/stop, it’s just been disabled and out of mind.
First time this happened I thought “well that’s weird.” Drive off and later came to a light and my truck died. Wtf.... wait, auto start is ON. Wtf?! Wait.... I can’t disable it.... wtf!!!!!!
Haha anyways, the next day all was back to normal thank god. The only thing worse than auto start/stop being enabled by default is it being permanently enabled. When this truck shut off erroneously and had me press the button again to restart it, the auto start button became permanently ENABLED.
Chalked it up to being a fluke. Today though it happened again. Anyone have ANY idea what’s going on (wrt the engine turning off when getting in and pressing the button)?
