FYI - replacing the mount and the outlet costs $275 each time. Moving it to this location is a great idea.

My current mount is screwed, but the outlet was not, so I moved the outlet and wires up underneath my truck and zip tied it out of the way. Last times I crushed the outlet to smithereens and had to buy a new one.

I got around to relocating mine this past weekend.

Mine was already bent to some degree. Here is a shot from the bottom that also shows the metal retainer clip:

I followed PropDr's recommendation and put tape on the bumper and used a pencil to mark the outline. I cut a hole open with my Dremel and all of the fine trimming with a sharp utility knife. Then I cut the old bracket off and ground the remaining welds flat. I had a can of semi-gloss black and sprayed the bare metal. I actually had dirt inside of the connector, stuck in the silicone grease. I cleaned all of that out and put in some new dielectric grease. After that, I popped the connector into the opening.

Here is a pic from the back side of the bumper (excuse the large amounts of dirt):

And here is a pic of the final result:

I just cut my bracket off the bumper and zip tied the plug behind the spare.

Did mine right before TRR 13 due to mine getting beat up at TRR 12.

Just did mine. Took about an hour to get it all done and cleaned up. Grinding the welds off to remove the bracket is a bit of a pain as there is no maneuver room until the bracket is off.
