Hello today my 13 month old son ripped this piece from the rear sliding window. What is this piece and how can I put it back on?

looks like the connector for the rear defroster elements.

my 2020 has a different version of it but I think I can see the connector/flex pcb that was torn of.

can you post a picture of the other side of that black piece you're holding in the pictures?

2020 802A.

mine doesnt have any connector behind that seatbelt plastic hump.

I do have a curved rubbery cover on the other lower corner of the sliding window. that looks like that connector for the defroster on the sliding window.

here's a rear window assembly up to year 2019. you can see the OP's piece in question at the corner of the sliding window.

your connector looks like the electrical terminals are damaged.

if it was my truck, id attempt a repair using the permatex repair kit. BUT, I have a lot of experience with things like these and it would be MY truck.

reference video:

since there were a few instances that they had their defrosters smoke up the cabin, I think ford discouraged any attempted repair for a connector that is damaged or ripped out.

see this link: https://ford.oemdtc.com/6270/rear-d...e-2015-2020-ford-f-150-2017-2020-f-super-duty

ebay has used sliding units under 200 bucks. might be more convenient and safer to get it replaced.
