I've been seeing a number of threads about rebuilt shocks not lasting very long, and have decided to just replace the Factory Fox 2.5s with new. Truck has 90k on it, and they are certainly due...
As everyone probably knows, the Motorcraft replacement parts seem impossible to find. Have Fronts on the way but can't seem to find rears anyplace... last place I ordered from had them "in stock" but just cancelled the order so they certainly weren't.
I'm seeing that Fox has a "Factory Series" 2.5 reservoir shock that is said to fit our trucks:
I've even thought about going Fox 3.0 on the rear, but then I'll have the factory fronts (2.5s). Hmm.
Worst case I could just go rebuilt on the rear but hate to go to the trouble and have them crap out in 15k miles.
Appreciate any advice

What say you all? Anyone gone this route? They may not have the exact valving as the OEM, but would like to hear thoughts and perspectives.I've even thought about going Fox 3.0 on the rear, but then I'll have the factory fronts (2.5s). Hmm.
