Looking at getting a 2018, would prefer a SCAB. Newborn in a few days, who well does a rearfacing baby seat fit in a scab? It sure doesn't in my crew cab tacoma.

I would check if it fits and if it is something that you can live with. When I got my Toyota Highlander I spent a good bit of time fitting the car seats to make sure everything would fit fine. If your newborn is coming soon, then you should already have the seat and base to try out.

It will fit fine in the middle and you can still recline. It’s even easier if you have the detachable seat and base as you don’t have to climb in to buckle them up

This. Have the detachable seat. We did that and it saves your back haha.
