I never checked these but I know my vertex got pretty warm. The heat sink on these are a lot better but they also have 12 LEDs. I can't imagine it'd be enough to melt the housing. They are designed to be mounted in housings like that.

still working great. the best benefit is the much brighter cargo light.

I had a couple LED's on the brake light quit working, so i'm going to transfer the cannons to another cargo light that I built. i made a circuit board to replace the OEM brake/clearance lights, so it'll look and function like the stock one. I also came up with a new weather seal that has been keeping it nice and dry for the last few months that I've been testing.

I've got whelens for rear facing amber and they only have about 4 LEDs per that still work.

Haynes Offroad makes a cool rear facing light that attaches into the hitch. May be another solution to consider. I was thinking of picking one up. Seems like an easy solution.

while its bright and easy, you really need the light to be up on top of the cab. im going to add another small, amber single row light in between the cannons.
