Can I assume this upgraded drive shaft is lighter than the stock one?

You can tell the overall quality of a shaft by the amount of weights used to balance it- stock shafts have lots of weight

Less weight would be a nice plus as well. Less HP loss to the wheels

Yup- Unbolt the stock one at the rear and it bolts right in. Takes about 10mins in your driveway
