Jumped in the Raptor today after all that rain and start hearing a pissing sound, look back to see water pissing in from the back corner of the headliner. So I found out that the third break light is filling up with water and letting it into the truck.

I pulled the third brake light out, just not sure if its the seal that seals the light to the truck or the fact that the two parts of the light are only glued together at the top so water can get in around the sides?

I sealed it with it on, just ran silicone along the gap between the cab and the light.

You think they would have fixed that problem by now.

I have heard of this problem before on a 2010 truck, I just figured Ford would have fixed the problem by now.

Do a search on this. Fairly common problem that silicone will fix.

Well I guess its off to the store for clear silicone and black gasket maker. I know if I take it to Ford service I'll end up with a new scratch like the last time.:flame:

OK...So I ran out to the automotive store to get some clear silicone, after drying everything up with rags and a hairdryer I caulked up the backside of the light, then ran a large bead all round the gasket and screws. After ******** it back in place was surprised to see that not much oozed out, so ran a bead all around the perimeter. So much for trying to go somewhere with the Raptor.

What year is yours? Looks like some more preventative measures are being added to the list.

Mine is a 2012 and this is the first time that it has seen some serious rain, I did previously see condensation behind the lense.

you don't want it to ooze out. if you created a thin, continuous bead of silicone, then press firmly between the surfaces then it will not leak. you don't need to see it for it to work :)

trust me, i've handled quite a bit of caulk in my day.
